ABOUT THE CENTRE OF HELP AND HOPE …CHH

Welcome to the Centre of Help and Hope (CHH) at the Willesden Seventh-day Adventist Church on the corner of Pound Lane and Glebe Road, NW10 2JD, in the London Borough of Brent.

CHH is now in its 6th year, having begun in October, 2016. Our aim has been and continues to be, to assist individuals and families, within our community and beyond, who find themselves in ‘crisis mode’ and, consequently, in dire need of assistance. We work in collaboration with the Crisis Solutions Team (CST), based at the Harmony Centre in Brent who identify and refer such individuals to us. Additionally, individuals self-refer.

At CHH we operate a food bank and clothing hub on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10:30 and 1:30pm and 10:30 and 12:30pm, respectively.

Additionally, we offer a community education and empowerment programme, namely STEPS UP. STEPS UP strategically presents a robust programme, with the intention of fostering a culture of learning to enable self-sufficiency for individuals and their families. The programme provides vocational and health improvement courses for promoting both mental and physical wellbeing. This includes stress management, health screening and cooking healthily on a budget, focusing on the following four areas:

  • Education
  • Employment
  • Health & Wellness
  • Financial Empowerment
